Appearance

Choose how MFS looks. Hover (or arrow through) to preview live — it only saves when you pick one. Each card is a real miniature of that theme.

Install app

What's new

SMS forwarding

The address your SMS-forwarding app (e.g. MacroDroid) sends texts to. If you ever reinstall or reconfigure it, this is the URL to point it at.

• The forwarder can send the text as message (and optionally sender) — in the address (?message=…), as a form, or as JSON. All three work.
• Want to check it's working without waiting for a real text? Use Log a message manually on the Dashboard — it goes through the exact same path.

Wide-variety merchants

Merchants listed here almost always get Sage's "what was this for?" follow-up instead of an auto-guessed category — for stores that sell a wide enough variety that the name alone doesn't say what was bought (Target, Amazon, Walmart, and the like). This list is just a head start — Sage also judges any other merchant on its own for the same pattern, even ones not listed here.

Text alerts

Get a text when something needs your attention. Enter your phone number, confirm it with the code you're sent, then choose which alerts you want. Free — no carrier to pick, MFS works out the right route by itself.

Bank (Plaid)

Connect your bank and its transactions come straight into your ledgers, next to your forwarded texts. Each row is labeled Text or Plaid. When both bring in the same charge, the two rows are outlined together and counted once.

Backup

Download a copy of everything MFS has saved — every transaction, your category tree, category emojis, budgets and the merchant list — as one file. Keep it somewhere safe; nothing on the site changes.
